What happens next.
- 1
We read every application ourselves and reply within about a week.
- 2
If it is your first time with us, we invite you to a short online call.
- 3
If you are under 18, a parent or guardian confirms your place. Then we send a payment link for your rate, unless you have a full scholarship.
- 4
A few days before each date, we ask you to confirm you are still coming. Then we send the link, the time in your timezone and the reading.
Questions people ask.
Do I need experience or to have read a lot?
No. You read the text before each session, which takes one to two hours, and come ready to talk. No background needed.
Do I need to speak English well?
Courses run in English. The short interview for new students is where we check it feels comfortable for you.
What does it cost, and what if I cannot pay it?
You choose your rate when you apply, from the rates on this page. If you choose the community rate, we ask what you can contribute and a little about your situation, so that we can share support fairly. Full scholarship decisions are made after the application deadline.
Can I apply from any country?
Yes. Anyone can apply, from any country and of any nationality. Our online courses have students from over fifty countries. Each course says whether it is online or in person.
Do I need a parent’s permission to apply?
No, you can apply on your own. If you are under 18 and we offer you a place, we will ask a parent or guardian to confirm before you start.
What if I miss a session?
You come to the next one. We take attendance, but nobody is dropped for missing a week.
