About a week before the course starts, we send the reading and everything you need.
Questions people ask.
Do I need to have read a lot?
No. Everyone reads the same short piece beforehand and nobody is expected to have read anything else. A seminar is people working out what one text means together, not people showing each other what they already know.
What if I have never done a seminar before?
Then you will be in the majority. The leader asks the first question and keeps the conversation honest; there is nothing to learn in advance.
What does it cost, and what if I cannot pay it?
You choose your rate when you apply, from the rates on this page. If you choose the community rate, we ask what you can contribute and a little about your situation, so that we can share support fairly. Full scholarship decisions are made after the application deadline.
Can I join from outside the United States?
Yes. Most seminars are online and our students join from all over the world. We will tell you the time in your own timezone when we write back.
What if I miss a session?
You come to the next one. We take attendance, but nobody is dropped for missing a week.
Can my school or center host one?
